hey guys , if you have checked my recent post about my recent haul(Haul HERE), this apparently is the first product I will be reviewing. Although this is not a recently released product by Lakme ,I could lay my hands on this only after I visited India, since Lakme is a very famous brand there.Frankly speaking, this is my second gel eyeliner ever purchased. I ran out of the Maybelline Lasting Drama one, hence I decided to try it. Very few brands have good quality colored gel eyeliners, I am glad Lakme(my mom’s favorite brand) came up with these.
Today’s review is about their gel eyeliner which goes about by the name of “LAKME ABSOLUTE GEL ADDICT EYELINER“, I got this in shade “TEMPTING TEAL“.Somehow teal works best for my yellow undertoned skin.
There are 7 shades as follows:-

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Eye Liner “Tempting Teal” :
This product comes nicely sealed in a black outer packaging with mentions everything except a list of ingredients 😦 The actual product packaging is very similar to the gel eyeliners from MUA, Revlon and some more brands, so yes its not an invention by Lakme itself. The product comes in a cute transparent glass jar where the shade is quite obvious and it has a pointed top cover to which is a detachable brush attached. The liner is a gel-like light weight and has a mousse or airy consistency. Like most gel eyeliners, I thought this was hard enough for getting the product onto the brush,so during my first attempt with this eyeliner, I dipped the brush too hard and it ended up being a mess.
The shade I got is a pretty teal color which has micro glitter particles which I loved the most.It is such a soft and creamy product which does not require much effort to get a seamless line on your eyelids. It has a smooth finish although it takes about 2-3 swipes to really get the colour intense else it ends up being opaque. After applying, it take about 10-15 seconds to dry out completely after which it does not budge or smudge at all. It does not even tug your eyelid during application. Once set this eyeliner can stay for about 10+ hours which is really a great deal for me , since i hate doing touch ups.
Its waterproof, smudge proof and very long lasting. One needs a good makeup remover to get the product off, a bi phased one works well and good. Even oily lid beauties can go worry free with this eyeliner since it works well on my non-primed eyes. Got to say Lakme has brought to the Indian market a really great product, but I do wished it was priced more economically .
• Brilliant packaging
• Very creamy and mousse like consistency
• All the shades are extremely beautiful
• Presence of microglitter in it; makes it suitable for use in parties; and out of it as well
• Does not irritate the eyes
• Very long lasting; does not fade; at least for 8-10 hours
• Does not smudge after 15-30 seconds
• Brush is very soft and workable; and built inside the packaging
• Very easy to get a seamless line
• A bit bulky packaging (compared to pencil like eye-liners)
• Needs 2-3 swipes of brush for dense pigmentation
• The flat brush makes it a bit difficult to make thinner lines.
My rating:- 4.5/5 (wish it had a denser pigmentation)
Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Eye Liner “Tempting Teal” is a beautiful teal eye liner with a great staying power. Those who have oily lids and face the issue of liners smudging would love it’s solid 9 hrs stay on the upper lash line. The texture being so very soft, I am hoping it wouldn’t dry out like the Maybelline gel liners. Lakme absolute gel addict eyeliners are definitely not economically priced, but barring the black one you wouldn’t really find colored gel liners so easily available in India. You should definitely give it a go if colored liners are your thing! I was more keen on “Vine yard” earlier, but right now i’m eyeing “deep sea”. Do give at least one of these a try!
Until next time, TC 🙂
