OGX Fight Fallout Niacin & Caffeine Shampoo Review

Hi Guys,

Its been such a long time since my last post.I am currently working on getting my own domain and working up for a brand new website which should be up by the start of next year.  My new year’s resolution is definitely towards working up with my favorite hobby i.e blogging. I am planning to get back to making YouTube videos with some fun ideas I have in mind as well posting regularly on my new website and being more than active on all my social media platforms. 🙂 This year is almost over and I decided to write a few posts that have been on my mind for a long time. Today I wanted to talk about one of my most loved hair products that has helped me through a series unfortunate bad hair days. Since February 2017 I started suffering from severe hair fall and dry rough hair. I wasn’t sure at first what was going wrong because everything I did was what I would normally do prior to the bad hair days. Months passed by with too much hair fall on a daily basis until in June 2017 I came across the OGX Fight Fall Out range. I bought the  OGX Anti Hair Fallout shampoo and conditioner after ditching my usual Head n Shoulders. Heres my 7 months experience with the range. Read on….

Price:- INR 725 for325 ml.

The Body Shop Drops of Light Skin Defence Multi-Protection Essence with SPF 50 PA++++ Review

Hi Guys,

Back with another product review that has been on my skin care routine for quite a while now. Somehow I am loving all the products I have been using from TBS and this one is no different. The daily struggle of travelling in this humid weather in India has me going nuts over choosing the best of the best products to protect my sensitive skin. Finally I invested in some skin care routine that has definitely made a huge difference. One of them is the skin protection essence that I got from The Body Shop.  It’s called “Drops of Light Skin Defence Multi-Protection Essence with SPF 50 PA++++”. SPF 50 and PA ++++ sounds like a complete skin protection package which I decided to invest in sans the cost.

Hauling ….Free Products

Hey peeps,

So the past few days/weeks have been a roller coaster ride ,with me still trying to build up my job profile that will do justice to the 4 glorious years I spent doing engineering. Sigh ! Getting on with today’s happy post, I was fortunate enough to be a part of a recent campaign and they sent me way too many  beauty products. Happy Dance But the sad part still remains , I can barely make use of a product more than once. In fact I even forget that I have these products until the need to toss them out comes due to its expiry…

I will be reviewing each and every product sooner or later so stay tuned…

Also do let me know if any product requires an urgent review, till then have a great day 🙂

Blogger Meet-Quaker Bowl

Hey everyone, after such a  long time I finally got to attend a blogger meet. For once it was
not related to beauty. It was related to food and nutrition. But this too came with
a catch, it was a meet about ‘oats’ by the famous brand Quaker and guess what? I do not like oats unless it’s just coating some double fried cutlets or potato wedges 😛 or completely hidden in some tasty food. All this hate for oats(mostly with milk) started when I had it for the first time when I was in the 5th grade and I puked. Ages later I still dislike the very sight of that combo.

Anyways that’s irrelevant to what today’s post is about.I was fortunate enough to receive an invitation for the #QuakerBowl event that would help me in a drift away from my dislike for ‘oats’.

Event Intro 🙂

Fellow Bloggers And Me

It all began with me entering JW Mariotte for the very first time. The event got delayed by at least half an hour but was worth the wait as I met all my blogging friends and made a new one too.As usual, the IndiBlogger crew started the event with a sassy intro.Angel by Taher Shah played as a joke and a so called “mystical man”(aka Vineet Rajan from IndiBlogger team) came on stage to make all bloggers do some weird fun exercises. There it was, my motivation began. But then there was a vending machine giving free chips and soda which I could not resist throughout the event. My motivation had to wait till the event got over.:P

Mystical Man aka Vineet

As the fun intro ended, we were waiting for a celebrity chef to arrive. In the invite, it wasn’t disclosed as to who the celeb chef would be.My mom guessed it could be Vikas Khanna, her favorite chef and hell yeah, she was right. I’ve had a crush on him ever since I saw his cooking show and of course his cute smile. My mom always said, “I wish you get a husband like him“. Hoping this comes true as well :).

The moment Michelin-starred chef Vikas Khanna entered the venue, I couldn’t believe my mom’s words were true.He is the Nutrition Ambassador of PepsiCo India and will help drive the brand’s nutrition portfolio by partnering with Quaker.Quaker is the flagship nutrition brand from PepsiCo aimed at supplying tasty and nutritious choices to consumers. He started his speech by thanking his mother and father to whom he has always been grateful. He referred to them as ‘earth’ & ‘skies’. Initially, it was really hard concentrating on his speech with that cute smile on his face. After getting back to my senses I got to hear some amazing tips by him and made a note of it.He also made us aware of many aspects related to eating unhealthy in modern times. We had some fun quiz rounds for which many hampers were won by fellow bloggers, sadly I wasn’t one of them.

The event then proceeded to a fun challenge where one had to guess the ingredients of soup kept in shot glasses. Chef Vikas randomly chose some people initially to do so and gave them 60 seconds to make a note of the ingredients their taste buds could guess. Most of them could not guess the majority of the ingredients and just wrote salt, water and submitted the answers to Mr. Vikas. Very few wrote oats which were surprisingly present in the soup. Mr. Vikas was amazed as well and shared a tip right away “Oats flour can be used as a soup thickening agent instead of corn flour“A new set of people were then chosen for the same challenge but with another set of soup shot glasses. The winner was a girl who guessed 12 out of 14 ingredients. She too was given a hamper.

We then had some fun and laughter with Mr. Vikas sharing some amazing real life experiences and jokes :p. He is a funny man indeed. We also had a team challenge which was so much fun.All of us were divided into groups based on our seating arrangement. There were 5 tables kept ready for us with 2 oats packs, chopped veggies, fruits, broken macaroons, jalebi pieces, chocolate sauce, a stove, salt, water, sugar and that’s all I can remember. We had to make a dish(with oats) of our choice as a team and the best dish would win.Since there were just 5 tables put up, initially only 5 teams began cooking and the rest had to wait.

My Team Cooking

I know nada about cooking so it was not really important for me to be there with the team as I badly wanted my selfie with chef Vikas who was meeting and greeting fellow bloggers.Well, that too had a big wait line as many bloggers wanted their pic with him.At many instances, he would begin sharing his own experiences and of course his jokes which are why it would take more time to click a pic with him.Worth the wait I tell you(blush).

Need I say more 🙂

After all the epic drama I went back to my teammates who were busy making a dish with chocolates and oats and fruits and so on. I tried to help but it was too late to interfere, so all I did was stare at all that they were doing. This is what we ended up with…the chocolate sauce was a mistake hence the weird look. 😛

A dish without a name!

Recipe for the above dish:- (This recipe is basically the way I saw it happening 😛 )

Step 1:- Get to know your teammates and smile.

Step 2:- Notice Chef Vikas clicking selfies with other bloggers and slowly try to escape from teammates.

Steps 3:- Once near Mr. Vikas , wait for your turn to click a selfie.

Step 4:- After clicking selfie, get back to your team without being noticed by them.

Step 5:- Pretend to be doing something because there are cameras recording you throughout.

Step 7:- Hear all kinds of suggestions by some teammates and nod your head. Sadly none of the suggestions will be of any use as the ones actually making the dish won’t hear it.

Step 8:- Watch plain cooked oats getting mixed with chocolate sauce(all by hand 😛 ). Next watch pre-cut fruit pieces being dipped in the mixture and being aligned on the plate along with fruits pieces(lucky) not dipped in the mixture. Now notice the mistake with the extra sauce dropped on the plate and wait till someone adds in more with a spoon. Every sauce layering done should be a mistake until you get a crappy look as seen in the pic above.

Step 9:- Finally this is the time you be considerate enough and pass on tissues to your teammates who have their hands dipped in the oats & chocolate mixture.

Step 10:- Look with awe as one of your teammates out of nowhere garnishes the dish with broken macaroons ..ha hah 😛

After all the teams were done with their dishes, came the taste test. Mr.Vikas was the master and his facial expressions were worth watching as he proceeded tasting all the dishes. The winning team was declared as team 10.Our team did not even qualify to the next round so I got back to my seat & began munching on the free chips and soda.It was surprising how Mr. Vikas had so much patience clicking pics with all of us that too with the same smile he entered the venue with. Also amazing was how Mr. Vikas interacted with almost everyone at the venue. While personally interacting with him all I said was “My mom likes your cooking shows”. Damn wish I could say more but the shy me won’t let the extrovert me speak when it’s needed.

Soon it became time for lunch and we wound our event with some great tips by Chef Vikas. And of course he spoke a lot about oats and that led me to rethink my opinion about oats.I was surprised we can make so many tasty things with oats apart the milk combo I always hated.
Lunch was the most awaited part too after the celeb visit. There were delicious brownies made with oats. This was the first time I liked something made from oats.

Yummy Desserts

And that was all for my fruitful day at the #QuakerBowl blogger meet.We left with some amazing goodies & a good experience interacting with my favorite chef.

The goodies

Some additional pics with my blogging friends 🙂 Until next time have a great day & Stay Healthy…….

Sephora Mumbai Haul and Experience-A huge Disappointment :(

Hey, everyone,  I decided to finally visit the newly launched Sephora store in Mumbai. It opened on the 29th of January 2016 and if I am not wrong they have 3 other stores already opened in major cities like Pune, Delhi,Bangalore etc. Before leaving home I was more than excited and thrilled to finally visit the store I used to always stalk online aspiring that someday I could lay my hands on their exclusive range of cosmetics and all things beauty !! Sadly this excitement was short lived until I arrived at the store.

The ONLY pic of the store 😦

Being a beauty blogger I am quite aware of the brands I wish to try out as well the brands that are exclusive at Sephora stores. I am also aware of the functionalities of the products I see unless they are newly launched. But everything at the store got me feeling really annoyed and I could not wait to get out of there. This feeling normally never pops up to me especially when I am shopping. But I guess it was a sign from GOD that I shouldn’t be spending more money than I actually earn :P.(JK:- I earn fair enough )..Moving on to my detailed experience and what got me annoyed.

1)Empty Shelves:-The moment I entered the store I witnessed this vibe that kind of crushed my excitement. I saw way too many empty shelves and panicked because everything I heard about Sephora India stores were coming true(ie. Products always out of stock and empty shelves). I had a list of products I wished to buy and to my disappointment,  I could not get anything on that list.Additionally, the store had just testers of the products and it was very painful to hear this statement-“Sorry Ma’am this product is currently out of stock“. I so wanted those NYX Matte Lip Cremes, everyone, raves about. But I ended just testing out the all the shades. Also when it came to Benefit Cosmetics, they didn’t have the full-size products. I normally opt for full size because it’s works out cheaper and even better when you have tested the product and find it worth the hype. Sadly I couldn’t buy anything as all trial versions were available which were not worth the price tag. For eg. INR 950 for a trial size and some INR 2800 for a full size(I don’t remember exactly).

2)Nagging Sale Assistants:- Okay so this situation is a common thing in India. But I particularly noticed Sephora India has damn annoyinngggggg SA’s.There was this guy who knew nada(I’m guessing) about cosmetics and the art of buying them peacefully, maybe alone with my own mind at work. But no, he kept following me around suggesting me products that are not even on my mind. I mean common if I wanted it I would pick it up right away. Also, he would bluff about the working of the products. For once in my life, I was glad I am into blogging. I pity the others though. 😦 .

The typical scene when I caught him bluffing(Lets have some fun together :P)

I was just walking by the perfume aisle when Marc Jacob Daisy Perfume caught my attention. I just stopped and looked at it because I recently purchased the same at another store. And all the chap said was-“This is a Sephora Exclusive perfume not available anywhere else in India”.All the other SA’s began to laugh and repeated his statement in Hindi asking him why he is lying.I felt embarrassed at that time and silently walked away.

Ps:-I have no hard feelings against this guy and no I don’t know him personally. Also, the female SA’s were of no help because they knew nothing either apart from nagging you to make unnecessary purchases.

3)Products way costlier:- The same products can be bought at a cheaper price abroad. I don’t understand how the products ended up being costlier than the amount I would normally pay in the US. Maybe it’s the customs and stuff.

4)Dried out testers:-Another major con at the store. Shouldn’t they be replaced timely? Wait a minute, the products are anyways out of stock so what’s the use of testing. Damn !!

5)No Photography inside the store:- Why do some Indian stores make stupid rules. I mean the whole world clicks pics inside the store. I do understand the bar code can be replicated as a result of photography, but I feel a warning sign would be better rather than SA’s who finally get their chance of being rude with customers.

6)Many brands missing:- There was no BeautyBlender, Face Shop, Urban Decay and many more brands much awaited for.

Ultimately I ended up buying just 2 products because I may visit the store sometime later when I am strong enough to witness the same situation all over again. Hopefully, things change.

The products:-

1)Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water -INR 560 for 50 ml.

2)Sephora Soft Touch Cotton pads-INR 230 for 70 pads.
